Droving Productions are driven to create authentic original material with an honesty that is relatable universally. They take inspiration from filmmakers such as Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, The Ice Storm), Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Magnolia), Abdellatif Kechiche (Blue Is the Warmest Colour), Felix van Groeningen (Broken Circle Breakdown), Lenny Abrahamson (Room. Frank) and Australian directors such and John Hillcoat (The Proposition, Lawless) and Ivan Sen (Beneath Clouds).
After meeting at university and working for years individually in the Australian film and TV industry, Romany Lee, Andrew Carbone and Candice Storey decided to join forces to create their own work. Droving Productions is a writer, director and producer team based in Sydney, Australia. Committed to making Australian films with a focus on strong performances and compelling story-telling
Candice, Andrew and Romany all grew up in different parts of the country. Andrew’s personal experience was his family’s cattle property in Western Queensland, Romany’s was the subtropical hinterland of Northern NSW and Candice’s was split between the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria and the white sandy beaches of Bundaberg, Queensland. Although their experiences differ, all of them have an innate love of Australian landscape and the stories that have grown from it.
